The role of the Water for Life Education Program is to work to coordinate water education across the greater Sydney metropolitan region.

Education is also an integral component of the implementation of many of the large range of initiatives underway through the Metropolitan Water Plan. For example, the greywater guidelines include a significant education program to ensure the community is aware of the changes that now make it easier to re-use greywater in the home.
