Eighteen councils across the Sydney metropolitan area have been awarded up to $10,000 each as part of the Water for Life Education Program.
The grants will support the councils to increase wise water use in the community and to improve understanding of local water efficiency and recycling projects, making it easier to involve the whole community in using water wisely.
This will be done through local advertising, with the Water for Life Council Partnership Kit providing ready-to-use resources such as newspaper and outdoor advertising templates which can easily be adapted to suit the needs of individual communities. Face-to-face communication workshops will also be held.
Both the funding and resources complement existing NSW Government Water for Life education initiatives, which have resulted in hundreds of thousands of Sydney-siders taking action to save drinking water.
